Dr Michael McGlynn OAM MBBS FRACS

Michael McGlynn graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in January 1971. He did General Surgery then Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital, and Prince Henry Hospital Group in Sydney and at Canniesburn Hospital in Scotland.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
He is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)

Positions held include Councillor of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, President of the NSW Chapter of Plastic Surgeons, Supervisor of Training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Chair of the NSW Regional Training Sub-committee of the RACS, Chair of the Board of Training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the RACS for Australia and New Zealand, member of the Clinical Council of the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission, Head of Plastic Surgery and a Clinical Director at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, Executive Clinical Director of the South Eastern Sydney Illawarra Area Health Service, Medical Executive Director of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, a member of the Board of the NSW Children’s Hospitals Network and Chair of the NSW Surgical Services Taskforce.
He has consultant appointments to Sydney Children’s Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital as well as major private hospitals.

His clinical interests include reconstruction of deformities in both adults and children with particular emphasis on Cleft Lip & Palate deformities, Hand Surgery, Skin Cancer, and Medicolegal Assessments.

In 2007 he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal “for services to medicine as a clinical Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and teacher, as well as service to the international community through Interplast Australia” Interplast Austalia
